 Areas of Practice

  • Complex families are welcome at Greenlake Psychology. Perhaps you are experiencing a high-conflict divorce, have years of longstanding resentment with adult children, or have a family history of abuse or estrangement. Family therapy can often be more time-efficient and cost-effective to address issues with multiple family members at once.

When working with high-conflict families, we have strict policies in place to ensure transparency, communication, and collaboration. We believe that it is essential for both parents to be involved in therapy for the benefit of the child.

  • We work with children with a range of challenges, including parental divorce, anxiety, depression, aggression, self-harm, substance use, self-esteem concerns, school refusal, and other behavior challenges. We collaborate closely with parents and school to ensure communication and consistency.

  • Greenlake Psychology is a neurodiversity-affirming practice, which means we see neurodivergence as an identity rather than a pathology. We do not endorse ABA or other behavioral therapies that aim to mask neurodivergence or encourage conformity. Instead, we will work to help you or your child understand themselves and what they need, taking into account sensory needs, their unique cognitive profile, their stage of development, and your parenting style. While we do not see neurodivergence as something that needs to be “treated,” we do understand that neurodivergent individuals often need support and accommodation due to living in a world designed for neurotypicals. We work frequently with clients who fit a PDA profile.

  • Greenlake Psychology specializes in long-term, deep therapeutic work. This type of therapy may be a fit for you if you are noticing longstanding maladaptive interpersonal patterns, if you have not found other forms of therapy to be helpful, or if you have experienced chronic or complex trauma.

Where is Greenlake?

Although I have lived in Colorado for 15 years, I am a Seattle native, and return often to visit friends and family. I grew up near Greenlake, an oasis in the middle of the city. Greenlake was always my place to reset. To walk, clear my head, be alone and get lost in my thoughts, or to enjoy conversation with friends and family. To enjoy the calming repetition of my steps, the meandering path, the wildlife, and the people-watching.

I want to help my clients identify what they need to have a clear mind, to connect with friends and family, and to enjoy their own company and rich inner world. Together we can help you identify your “Greenlake.”
